Interior Decorating For The Holidays

There are so many ways to get the interior of your home ready for the holiday season.

Start by choosing a colour theme or go with a more traditional look that will make your home look fantastic. Here are a few ways to get the interior of your home ready for the holidays.

1. Coloured Themes

You can choose to have a colour theme for your home décor, or you could choose to have a more traditional look and use the ornaments you have accumulated over the years. Popular colour themes are usually red and plaid, red and green, blue and silver, gold and white, or silver and gold.

2. Entryway

When first walking into your home, the entryway is the first area to spruce up. Decorate it with lots of greenery, candles, ornaments, or a small Christmas tree.

3. Staircase

If you have a staircase in your home, adding garland, ornaments, or tiny lights around the banisters and railings would be a nice added touch with many safe lighting options to choose from.

4. Kitchen

Kitchens are a high traffic area for most homes. Decorating the kitchen without becoming crowded may be hard, but adding smaller decorations may eliminate this. Hang wreaths or garland around the windows, or hang some mistletoe from the light fixtures.

5. Table Décor

Simple table décor or extravagant arrangements, depending on the style you're looking for can be done by creating your own table centerpieces. Mason jars, boxes or bowls can be used to put some greenery into the center with candles and pine cones. There are endless possibilities for your table that you can create from items you have around the house.

6. Mantle

If you have a fireplace and want more than stockings hung with care, dress it up and make your mantle be a beautiful showpiece. Add greenery, candles, toy trucks and trains, berries, and lights to create a fireplace that Santa would be happy to fly down.

7. Christmas Tree

A Christmas tree is a big tradition when Christmas comes around and kids love to decorate them. A Christmas tree doesn’t have to be big; you can also have a mini Christmas tree that utilizes less space in your home.
